Los Angeles Tanabata Festival
100 N Central Ave, Los Angeles, California 90012
Come and join us as we celebrate 10th anniversary of the Los Angeles Tanabata Festival. This year's theme is the «Spirit of Togetherness».
Celebrating Tanabata in Little Tokyo has become a summertime favorite. Crowds gather over the two- day festival to enjoy Japanese foods, listen to live music, shop at the arts & crafts booths and view the hundreds of beautiful handmade kazari decorations made by the community.
Each summer, 10 award-winning gorgeous kazari are displayed at the Sendai Tanabata Festival in Japan. Then the giant kazaris are sent here to Little Tokyo for the Los Angeles Tanabata Festival.
Bring your creativity, energy, community spirit and register online or contact us to make your own kazari for display or competition! Also if you'd like to volunteer or be a Committee Member, please let us know!!!
Opening Ceremony kicks off the event on Fri. August 10th at 5 p.m. Then the festival is open from Sat. 11 a.m. — 9 p.m. and from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday
So invite your family and friends and join us in the spirit of togetherness as we celebrate the 10th Los Angeles Tanabata Festival!
Admission is free on all three days!
